5 Reasons Not to Attend the Connections Tour
The Connections Tour is the (free) ticket to snag. But if you're thinking it's a total skip, here are 5 reasons you might be right.
Summer might be winding down, but that’s not stopping the Domo team from hitting the road for an 11-stop tour to some amazing cities across the US and Canada.
The Connections Tour is the ticket to snag, especially with the $0 price tag that’s easier on your budget than those concert tickets you splurged on this summer.
But let’s be real. This isn’t just another event—it’s an experience. It’s your opportunity to build community, get your burning questions answered, and learn how to make the most of your data with Domo.
Wait, were you expecting something else? Well, we wouldn’t want to disappoint you. So, if you’re thinking this tour is a total skip, here are 5 reasons you might be right.
1. You take pride in doing things the hard way—it builds character.
Do you refuse to ask for directions, even when hopelessly lost? Then this may not be the place for you.
When we envisioned the Connections Tour, we saw it as an opportunity for Domo users to get facetime with data whisperers—experts who can work directly through the issues or challenges users are dealing with.
Of course, some people prefer to spend days wrestling with a problem, convinced that staring hard enough will make an answer magically appear. We get it—you might prefer the long, winding road rather than talking to the people who know the answer. If this is you, staying home might be more your speed.
2. Learning from others? Sounds like cheating.
This year, we’re shaking things up a bit and spending more time having customers and partners present their successful use cases. That includes step-by-step walk-throughs of how they actually work in Domo—kind of like a home improvement show. Of course, instead of a kitchen makeover, they’re renovating your data workflows.
We know—you’re not being paid to copy others’ work, right? Why would you want to see how other Domo customers are using the platform to make literal life-saving decisions?
Our goal is to ignite imaginations and excite attendees about new possibilities for exploring and visualizing and sharing data. But hey, if you think peeking behind the curtain is a cop-out, please continue doing things the hard way your way. We wouldn’t dream of interrupting your solo journey. (After all, why use GPS when just feeling your way along is so much more…character-building?)
3. If you’ve mastered one AI chat tool, you’ve mastered them all.
You’re being bombarded with all things AI right now. We get it. You’ve already aced writing prompts for generative AI tools like ChatGPT. So why bother with a hands-on session walking through how to use Domo’s AI Chat? It’s probably redundant. Totally unnecessary. Completely repetitive. Nope, no reason at all to learn how to use it more efficiently or in new, innovative ways.
Now is a good time to let the less advanced users explore how to make the most of Domo’s AI features during our special technical workshop. Sure, they’ll learn how to do everything you can do more efficiently, but we’ve established that doing unnecessary extra work is kind of your thing.
4. You’ve got all the time in the world to train your coworkers.
As the designated Domo guru at your company, it’s great that you love taking hours out of your day (day after day after day) to teach your team everything that Domo can do. We certainly appreciate it.
You could, of course, bring them along with you to the Connections Tour. Aside from offering technical training, we are showcasing how Domo can add value to every level of the organization—from analyst to executive. But if you feel like you’ve got that covered, we don’t want to step on any toes…
5. Nothing good comes for free.
Did we mention attending is free? We know it sounds too good to be true, and we’re struggling to think of a silly downside for this. We won’t even let you pay for parking (we know, we’re the worst).
True, maybe some people would argue that exclusivity adds value and could entice some people to attend. But that’s not the goal of these events. It is called the Connections Tour for a reason: We want to connect with you, and we want our users to connect with each other.
Still on the fence?
The Domo platform has so many capabilities on its own and is even more powerful when paired with other, complementary tools. Heck, if you’ve unlocked all the possibilities on your own, then maybe this tour isn’t for you.
Still, it can be difficult to fathom the possibilities when we’re working on our own projects, tucked away back at our own companies. But the Connections Tour is designed to break down those barriers and allow people to experience the platform from a new perspective so they can do more with every piece of data that they collect.
If you’re ready to extend the limits of what you thought was possible and maximize your potential with Domo, the Connections Tour is where you need to be. Why settle for “good enough” when “game-changing” is just a (free) ticket away.
