BeachLife Nights brings reggae vibes to Redondo Beach

The first BeachLife Nights, with its reggae vibes, attracted thousands to the Redondo Beach Harbor over the weekend.

Michael Franti & Spearhead and Iration headlined BeachLife Nights, a more intimate version of the BeachLife Festival that took place on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 18-19. The original BeachLife Festival typically attracts more than 30,000 over a the three-day weekend in May.

Opening night on Friday night, which Michael Franti & Spearhead headlined, also featured The Rookies, The English Beat and Soja. On Saturday, when Iration, included performances by Anuhea, Donavon Frankenreiter and Fortunate Youth, a South Bay-born band.

Celebrity chef Curtis Stone hosted a VIP barbecue over the two days as well.

BeachLife Festival debuted in 2019, followed by BeachLife Ranch in 2022 and 2023. BeachLife Ranch was paused this year and replaced by BeachLife Nights to make a smaller footprint because of construction on the California Surf Club adjacent to the Seaside Lagoon.
