He opted to remain in the U.S. for the federal response to the hurricane.
President Joe Biden postponed his scheduled trip this week to Germany and Angola, opting to remain in the U.S. for the federal response to Hurricane Milton, the White House announced on Tuesday morning.
Biden had planned to depart on Thursday for a two-day trip to Germany that was to include meetings with Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin and a summit with other G-7 leaders on the Ukraine war. The president’s subsequent visit to Luanda, Angola, on Monday was also going to mark the fulfillment of his pledge to visit Africa before leaving office.
