Wearing their Sunday best! Prince William and Princess Kate celebrated Easter on Sunday, April 9, alongside all three of their children.

The Prince of Wales, 40, and the Princess of Wales, 41, were pictured outside St George’s Chapel in Windsor, England, on Sunday before the holiday service began. The married couple, who wed in April 2011, were joined by children Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4. The family of five coordinated in blue outfits, with Kate and Charlotte donning royal blue dresses and William and the boys opting for navy suits. Louis, whose Sunday outing was his first appearance at the annual service, also wore a pair of pastel blue shorts as he held his mother’s hand outside the chapel.

The Waleses were joined by other royal family members including King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, Princess Anne and Sir Timothy Laurence. The Duke of Cornwall’s cousins Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall were also photographed outside the church.

Sunday’s holiday marks the royals’ first Easter since the death of Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022 at the age of 96.

“While I will grieve her loss, I also feel incredibly grateful. I have had the benefit of the queen’s wisdom and reassurance into my fifth decade,” William, who was named the Prince of Wales and Duke of Cornwall after 74-yearold father Charles assumed the British throne, wrote in an Instagram statement shortly after his grandmother’s death. “She was by my side at my happiest moments and she was by my side during the saddest days of my life. I knew this day would come, but it will be some time before the reality of life without Grannie will truly feel real.”

Elizabeth is survived by her four children — Charles, Anne, 72, Prince Andrew and Prince Edward, whom she shared with husband Prince Philip, who died in April 2021 — and multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The royal family all came together to honor her legacy at a state funeral last fall.

Charles, 74, ascended the throne immediately following his late mother’s passing and his official coronation is scheduled for Saturday, May 6, in which George is set to be one of his Pages of Honour. William and the Duchess of Cornwall are also expected to attend the ceremony, though it is not confirmed if Charlotte or Louis will join them.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been bringing their eldest children to several public engagements in recent years, including last year’s Easter service at St George’s Chapel. The April 2022 appearance marked George and Charlotte’s first official Easter outing after an intimate celebration at home.

“On the Saturday before Easter, Kate and the kids baked a chocolate cake covered in Cadburys Mini Eggs,” a source exclusively told Us Weekly at the time. “[Kate] also made each of their kids an Easter egg with their name written on it in icing sugar.”

While William and Kate try to “limit” their little ones’ sugar intake, Easter is a rare exception. “They were pretty chocolated out by the end of the long weekend,” the insider added of the children.
